This practice, developed by Barbara Dilley, was introduced to me by Charlottle Stickles and Lilianna Kane and taught to me by them in variations at their Movement Jot workshop that took place May 2022 at GROUNDWORKS in Gardinier, NY.

I’d love for our time together to be a practice of curiosity, deep play, embodiment, improvisation, and experimentation. Together, we’ll seek to understand the feeling of letting each moment inform the next.

60 minutes of practice

20 minutes of meditation
arrive, attune, breathe — we’re alone together

20 minutes of personal awareness
stretching, gentle movement, listening to your individual needs, and tending to them

20 minutes open space/open awareness
sensing ourselves in relation to one another
allow yourself to be moved, mirrored, and witnessed by others while also remaining present with yourself/your experience
a time for:
writing
drawing
dancing
singing
shaking
trying something new, letting it go
remaining still

Listen to Dilley speak about CDP here and here.

Gertrude Stein’s Essay Composition as Explanation where she discusses the idea of “continuous present” and using everything.

a dizzying but fun read.
